Small Groups
God has created us for community! Acts 2:42-47 and 4:32-37 describe the deep fellowship, centered around the person of Jesus Christ, that was enjoyed by the early Christian church in Jerusalem.
Small Groups are a place where we gather together to practice this sort Biblical community. LIFE Groups (our Adult Small Groups) meet weekly in homes for fellowship, worship, prayer, topical Bible study, service, and Biblical “one-anothering.” Families are encouraged to attend together and most groups make provision for child-care. The goal of our LIFE Groups is to develop honest, deep Christian friendships where we practice transparency and fulfill the Biblical mandate to “bear one another’s burdens”. (Galatians 6:2).
At FBF we seek to integrate teens and children into the overall life of the Body; however, recognizing the need for age appropriate instruction, we also provide a small group environment for children through Sunday School classes and KIDZmin, our mid-week Bible study for students in grades 1-6.
Children's Ministry
The Scripture provides little specific teaching about the role and methods of the church in ministering to children. There are, however, a number of principles taught and illustrated in Scripture that apply to this topic and which inform and guide our ministry to children.
The goals and purposes of our Children’s Ministry are simple: to teach children to love God, love people and to lead children toward maturity as disciples of Jesus Christ. This purpose statement also helps define our ministry process.
