Small Groups
At FBF we call our small groups LIFE Groups. The name implies that we see our small groups as a vital source of spiritual and community life within our church. Our goal is to have at least 70% of our congregation actively involved in a LIFE Group.

We believe that a small group of 8-12 adults is the ideal place in the church to practice the Biblical art of “one-anothering.” The Scripture provides ample instruction on how Christians are to relate to, care for and love one another. This includes mutual prayer, love, accountability, encouragement, service, sharing, counsel, practical service and many more. As we live out these principles in close community, we grow personally and glorify God by displaying his grace in our lives.

Our LIFE groups offer the opportunity for:

Missions
FBF is committed to helping fulfill the Great Commission, starting in Lebanon and extending to the ends of the earth. Most Sundays we have a Missions Moment where we give updates on and pray for FBF missionaries, global missions work, local missions opportunities and missions training and conferences.

Our Missions Committee meets monthly and is responsible for:

FBF encourages families and individuals to serve in various local, domestic and international short-term missions settings.

Please refer to our missionaries page.

Biblical Counseling
The Lord has given believers everything necessary through his precious Word to lead a full and joyful life and to bring God glory. Yet many Christians struggle with beliefs, feelings and behaviors that are anything but joyful and God honoring.

FBF offers Biblical Counseling to people in our church and in our community at no or minimal charge. We have several couples who have been trained and have experience as Biblical counselors who are equipped to help people work through their problems.

For more information please reference our page on Biblical Counseling.

Other Ministries of FBF

Children’s Ministry
On Sunday mornings we offer Children’s Church for two age groups: ages 2 to kindergarten, and 1st-3rd grade. Our teachers use a 3-year Bible curriculum that includes prayer, singing, Bible quizzing and memorization, and age appropriate Bible lessons. Children are dismissed to Children’s Church before the sermon begins.

Kids in the 4th grade and older sit with their parents through the entire church service. We encourage parents to discuss the sermon with their kids, to help them see the value of God’s Word and to make personal applications.

Mid-Week Ministry (KIDZmin)
During the school year, FBF offers a mid-week Bible Study for students in 4th-8th grade. We meet from 6:20-7:30 every Wednesday evening at the MRDD building where we worship on Sundays. Students learn how to do Inductive Bible Study on their own through assigned daily lessons and then we review their lessons during Bible study. Fun activities are planned about every six weeks for students who are faithful in attendance and completing their lessons.

Summer Backyard Bible Clubs, summer Moms and Tots Park Days, and other children’s outreach activities round out FBF’s Children’s Ministries.

The Berean Series
Theological and Doctrinal Education are an important part of our equipping and discipleship ministries. In lieu of Adult Sunday School, FBF offers various classes for men, women and teens, typically on Saturday mornings. Classes include theological, doctrinal and practical life topics, and are offered for 10-12 weeks each fall or spring. Topics include: Biblical Leadership, Doctrine 1 & 2, Understanding End Times, Roles of Men and Women in the Church, Sharing and Defending Our Faith, Marriage and Parenting topics, and more. There is normally a small fee for class materials. For information about upcoming classes call FBF.

Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) Hosting
FBF families have the opportunity to partner with the Warren County Interfaith Hospitality Network to host homeless families at local churches one or two evenings once every three months. IHN Hosts provide a meal and children’s activities. By demonstrating care and compassion for these families we often have the opportunity to share our hope in Christ as well.

Evangelism and Outreach Ministries
Proclaiming the Gospel and making Disciples of Jesus is central to the work of the church. We intentionally limit the amount of “church activities” that we ask our congregation to participate in so that they have the time and energy to build intentional relationships with unbelieving friends, neighbors and co-workers. Throughout the year FBF plans events and partners with other churches in Lebanon to share Christ’s love with as many people as possible. Some of the past outreach activities we have planned include: encouraging our men to bring friends to the Superbowl Breakfast, Friday night walleyball at the YMCA, ladies brunch and investigative Bible study, participation in various festivals including the Arts Festival and Applefest, moms and tots Park Days, summer KIDZmin and community fall clean up days.

Fellowship Activities
Fellowship and deep friendships are an important aspect of belonging to a local church. We actively promote our church family serving and ministering to one another. In addition to Small Groups, various other fellowship activities are planned throughout the school year, including a monthly Fellowship Brunch following our morning Worship Service. We believe that multi-generational fellowship is valuable and encourage our families to participate together in these activities. We also offer men’s fellowship activities which are often centered around a sporting or outdoor activity and women’s fellowship activities which are often held in a home and include an activity and a meal.
